Chairman Resigns

Michael Shaw was elected Chairman in May 2000, but after nine years in office he has resigned as Chairman, although he will remain on the Council.
The new Chairman, Gordon Arthur, thanked Michael Shaw for his enthusiasm and time that he had spent during his time.

Party Time in the Village Hall

All the children in the village were invited to the Christmas Party in the Village Hall. Twenty-nine children, all under 10 years old had a great time.
They played lots of party games. During tea, Santa and Mrs Santa arrived with a sack full of presents for the children.
Their parents restored their energies with mulled wine and mince pies!

The Parish Council had received some complaints about an elder bush, which was growing on the edge of the allotments on Main Street, opposite the church.
As drivers were approaching Main Street, they were finding it progressively difficult to see traffic approaching from Saddington.

Plots are being cleared and manured ready for Spring planting.
Brussels sprouts, leeks, parsnips, celeriac, spinach and other winter vegetables are being harvested.
